Safeguarding Fire Standard

The NFCC’s Safeguarding Workstream has delivered a number of guidance documents and a self-assessment tool to enable services to assure and improve their capability in this area. We are grateful for all the feedback we received through the consultation, all of which has been considered. We have provided an explanation and rationale for the changes made in the table below.

Leadership and People Fire Standards

Code of Ethics Fire Standard

The draft Code of Ethics Fire Standard, which the Fire Standards Board has put forward for consideration, is underpinned by the Core Code of Ethics for Fire and Rescue Services (England) (core code). Setting the Fire Standards for the year ahead

Members of the Fire Standards Board met last month to review the progress since its establishment. Despite the challenging backdrop of the pandemic, the Board are particularly pleased with progress made in publishing nine Fire Standards since February 2021. The visuals below are a reminder of those standards published so far and those in development in the coming months.

Fire Standards Board – What’s coming up in 2022

A further seven Fire Standards are currently in development by the Fire Standards Board. These include Safeguarding; Fire Investigation; Emergency Preparedness and Resilience; and Data, as well as three Leadership Fire Standards.
